Sevenoaks 2 4
Lewes 3 2 (Foads, Jervis)
Whilst the scoreline flattered Sevenoaks, Lewes were left to rue
missing a number of chances especially in the second half.
Sevenoaks took advantage of Lewes's lack of concentration in the
opening 15 minutes and were 3-0 up through a penalty corner strike,
an open play goal and a penalty stroke. Lewes creditably picked
themselves up and just before half time Colin Foads followed up
a penalty corner shot to score from close range.
Lewes dominated the second half but their failure to convert numerous
penalty corners and open play chances left them open to a counter
attack and with ten minutes to go Sevenoaks broke away to score.
Lewes immediately conceded another penalty stroke but ‘keeper
Josh Pewter saved well. Lewes then converted a penalty corner when
Rory Jervis dribbled around three defenders to score but were unable
to add to this in the final minutes.

Ashford 2 4
Lewes 3 2 (Champness, Jervis)
Lewes could not continue their recent good form with a disappointing
defeat against a physical Ashford team.
Both teams were desperate for the points being at the wrong end
of the table but it was Ashford who opened the scoring in the first
half. Lewes exerted some pressure and Rory Jervis deservedly equalised
from a drag flick at a penalty corner. By half time Ashford had
scored again to lead 2-1.
In the second half Ashford stretched their lead from open play before
both sides had two players yellow carded as heavy tackles went in
and Lewes allowed this to upset their play. They got back to 3-2
when Will Champness followed up from a penalty corner to score but
with ten minutes left Ashford made the game safe.
This Saturday Lewes will hope to get back to winning ways against
Henley, 1.30pm at the Southdown Club.

Lewes 3 4 (Foads, Jervis 3)
Canterbury 3 1
Lewes produced their best performance of the season with a well
deserved victory. Canterbury paid the price for underestimating
the home side, who belied their bottom place in the league. Lewes
took the lead after 15 minutes when Rory Jervis scored from a penalty
corner, but that lead was short lived as Canterbury replied also
from a penalty corner strike. Ten minutes before half time Jervis
scored his and Lewes's second with a powerful strike into the roof
of the net after a good move from the half way line.
In the second half Lewes dominated possession but could not get
the crucial third goal. Ashley Kempton and Colin Foads were outstanding
in midfield whilst Richard Morson, Joe Davis and skipper Hugo Youngman
mopped up the sporadic Canterbury attacks. With fifteen minutes
to go Jervis got his hat-trick with a drag flick, which the keeper's
stick deflected into into the goal and then with five minutes remaining
Foads was on hand to convert a rebound off the ‘keeper from
close range to give Lewes only their second win of the season.

London Wayfarers 2 7
Lewes 3 0
Lewes knew this would be a tough fixture away in South London and
so it proved. Creditably they survived the opening 20 minutes before
the home team scored but by half time it was 3-0. ‘Keeper
Chris Day was outstanding throughout and despite the scoreline made
a number of instinctive saves with centre back Richard Morson also
making a number of crucial tackles as Wayfarers dominated.
Lewes created three penalty corners but the home ‘keeper was
equal to Rory Jervis's powerful flicks. It was only in the final
15 minutes that Wayfarers pressure told and they scored four more
goals to win comfortably. Lewes worked hard but the superior skills
and movement of Wayfarers was too much for them.

Lewes 3 3 (Carroll, Jervis (2))
West Hampstead 2 3
Lewes, who are at the foot of the Peroni South Division Two, produced
their best performance of the season to come from behind against
third placed West Hampstead three times to snatch a draw.
Lewes were behind after 15 minutes when Hampstead opened the scoring
but responded immediately when Rory Jervis scored direct from a
penalty corner strike. Hampstead were back ahead by half time from
a well worked move.
In the early part of the second half Lewes central defenders Simon
Morford and Richard Morson were outstanding, breaking up the Hampstead
attacks to prevent any further goals. Mid way through the half Lewes'
pressure paid off when Jervis's shot from the top of the circle
which was going wide was skilfully deflected home by James Carroll
to equalise.
Hampstead then made the most of slack marking in the Lewes defence
to re-take the lead from close range with ten minutes remaining.
Lewes showed their character by not letting their heads drop and
a brave run by Ollie Bowyer with five minutes remaining resulted
in a penalty corner when he was deliberately fouled in the '25'.
Jervis drag flicked the penalty corner into the bottom corner of
the goal for his second and Lewes's third goal to give them a deserved
point.

Lewes 3 0
Lewes Ladies 3s played Mid Sussex 2s at The Triangle in a 4-2 victory
to Lewes.
Lewes started off strongly, with most of the possession in Mid Sussex's
third.
Becca (surname?) scored two early goals, putting Lewes confidently
in the lead.
Lewes continued to dominate the game, with several shots on target,
and some fantastic dynamic movement on and off the ball.
Becca scored a 3rd goal, taking Lewes to 3-0, but just before half
time, Mid Sussex scored from a break up the left wing taking it
to 3-1 at half time.
Mid Sussex came out fighting in the 2nd half, and it was a challenging
2nd half played across the midfield.
Milli Fawsett scored from a straight strike at the top of the D
taking Lewes to 4-1 up.
However, Mid Sussex continued to battle and scored in the last 10
minutes of the game, taking the final score to 4-2.
