Lewes Hockey Club is located a few minutes from Lewes town centre, which itself is situated in the scenic setting of the South Downs.

Due to a high volume of members, we are able to form eight mens teams, four ladies teams and mixed sides. People have joined Lewes HC for it's proud hockey traditions since being founded in 1903, relaxed friendly social environment and location, with a 14th century monastery and Lewes castle providing a picturesque setting.

The Mens 1st team play in South Premier League Division 1. Our Ladies 1st team play in the South League Division 3. The other ten teams form a wide range of hockey standards from the very competitive to local leagues, mens veterans and a mens lions side for our 'home-grown' talent. Training sessions are held weekly for all teams on our state-of-the-art, newly laid, sand-dressed artificial pitch with floodlighting.

All through Saturday, the club house is brimming with hockey players, both Lewes and visiting teams, to socialise and recount the games events over a beer.

Various social events are held through out the year, including theme nights, in club competitions, discos etc. The biggest event is Midsummer Madness: a hockey festival held in July, where approx. 16 teams gather for a weekend of hockey, fun, entertainment and of course...beer!

Regardless of whether you have played hockey before or are new to the game, we have teams to suit all abilities and are always eager to meet new players.
