Level 2 Coach John has been playing squash since he was eight and started coaching at Britannia Leisure in Hackney more than ten years ago. He moved with his young family to Lewes in 2023 and was inspired by our previous Head Coach Stephen Holliday to join the coaching team at Lewes Squash Club, where they worked to build the very successful Junior coaching programme.
An active member of the club himself, John’s mission is to get more young people and more women active on the squash court and have fun!
“Nominated as England Squash Young Coach of the Year “, Fred is a level 2 qualified squash coach. He has been playing sport at the Southdown Club since he was six years old. It took him a couple of years to find the squash courts but it was love at first swipe. He plays for Lewes and has represented Sussex at junior level.

The Southdown Club and Lewes Squash club offer group sessions for juniors, men and women, ranging from skills training for competitive players through to women-only evenings and junior coaching. The primary objective is to develop and expand squash by offering a range of affordable and enjoyable activities catering to different standards and ages.
