Tennis Home
We offer you a mixture of competitive and informal sport and social activities in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, competitive or just enjoy a social game, there is something for everybody.
You will have access to a range of high quality facilities, coaching programmes and activities to suit all tastes, ages and abilities. Our Clubmark quality rating guarantees you a high level of provision.
Encouragement and support is available to both new and established players. A very strong junior section has programmes and support for developing their potential and their enjoyment of sport. You can drop-in and play several times a week and non-members can join coaching sessions or play at other times for a modest guest fee.
Coaching
Highly qualified coaches cater to all levels of interest from relaxed, sociable games to competitive play and high performance levels while also making tennis fun! They carefully match their programme to players' needs. New members of lower playing ability can join a coaching group for 6 weeks free of charge. For juniors, the Club runs a comprehensive, LTA accredited coaching programme as well as holiday camps during school vacation periods. Non-member participants are welcome.
Competition
For those who like competition, we enter 10 teams into Men's and Ladies Sussex leagues at a range of levels as well as four Veterans leagues for men, women and mixed. Divisions for singles and doubles play run from September to June. Popular 'Mini tournaments' are hosted for younger juniors and Juniors play in county and league teams and divisions. An annual Tennis Championship tournament is run every Spring and informal tournaments are run on occasion throughout the year.
Social Activities
The Club has an active social life with a mixture of sporting and non-sporting events. The bar and clubhouse are used for events such as quiz nights, race nights, club and private parties, or just to relax with friends after a game. It is also a popular place to gather to watch major sporting events on a large LCD screen. The club also meets annually with clubs in Lewes 'twin' towns Blois and Waldshut.
